Picking ’em green!

In locations where the temperature consistently sits above 30°C or under 15°C, you might need to harvest your tomatoes green; and let them ripen indoor – off the vine-.

Green tomatoes are mature when they reach their full-sized and begin to blush of color close to the base.

How to pick tomatoes:

To start harvesting your tomatoes, grasp them firmly – but gently – with one hand and hold the stem with your other. Pull from the plant while twisting slightly, trying to break the stalk just above the small green leaves “hat” where the tomato connects to the stalk.

Alternatively, use scissors if needed.
