A list for September in The Patch:

Black birds flying over,
Rotting fruit,
Ice covered brown leafs,
Fallen branches,
The fire,
Harvest moon,
Caterpillar which I threw away.

There is an extended quality of life aspect to the Patch – the good life shared-. It has become an art project as much as a community food reserve. Everything is about time and connections.

The Patch is a place for fables. François Morelli has brought sculptures to the land and wants to burn them here – a fable of time and sacrifice and letting things go.

There are so many mistakes I’ve made in making this garden. I want to show them, to make them part of the story.

All of this is destined for immersive 360 video projection. I want people to be enveloped by The Patch as I am. I love the idea of cardboard VR headsets that would let me reach out into an audience and share this garden.

I want to bring in other voices, artists, philosophers, people from other parts of the world and of different ages. I want the fables to reach as many as possible.

I’m realizing I can’t just give the community a bunch of green tomatoes. I have to transform them in an interesting and useful way and then also share with people how it’s done with recipes so they can do it too.

The whole thing keeps branching out!
